Ipswich Town are reportedly keen on signing Aston Villa forward Jaden Philogene, closely monitoring his situation.
A deal had previously been agreed with Hull City for Philogene to join them in the summer of 2024, only for Villa to step in and secure the young forward by triggering a similar offer, effectively hijacking Ipswitch’s move.
Philogene has struggled to secure regular playing time with Villa this season, starting just four games. Despite being part of Villa’s squad, he has yet to contribute any goals or assists in the Premier League during the 2024-25 campaign. His lack of opportunities under Villa’s current setup has led to growing speculation about his future at the club.
Ipswich, currently sitting in 18th place in the Premier League and battling against relegation alongside teams like Everton, Wolverhampton, and Leicester City, are eager to strengthen their squad in several positions during the January transfer window. They are particularly interested in bringing in Philogene, with reports suggesting that they could make a move as early as this month to secure his services.
As Ipswich continues to fight for Premier League survival, adding a forward like Philogene could prove vital. The question remains whether Villa will be willing to let the 22-year-old leave on loan or permanently, and if other clubs might enter the race for his signature.
